Welcome to the Jungle Never Again Elvis Cd
Venus Records
Presented in Jewel Instance
Volume Two of these legendary sessions recorded at
Graceland these are pure aureate equally these are the last studio sessions recorded by Elvis and like the FTD release The Jungle Room Sessions they go to prove Elvis was in great vocalisation and spirit unlike the official Albums of the day From Elvis Presley Boulevard & Moody Bluish these seemed to bandage a shadow over the recordings partly in they way they were mixed and perhaps partly considering these were the last ii albums nosotros got of Elvis in the studio? Now we are treated as the skilful old FTD did all those years ago with The Jungle Room Sessions hither for the second fourth dimension more complete sessions in some cases not and so complete just more complete than we could e'er have dreamed of a few years ago. Here as advertised on the dorsum encompass of Never Once more - the side by side volume "The Last Adieu" allowsouthward hope this is released soon, as we tin can never abound tired of this material..
The CD contains every known bachelor take of "Danny Boy", "Never Again" and "Beloved Coming Down" including the undubbed master have and the dubbed master takes for each vocal.
The CD is similar the first Volume presented in a jewel case with a nicely designed 16-page booklet and well written liner notes from which we take come to wait.
Recordings on this outing feature from Feb v to Feb 7, 1976. Down in the Jungle Room as nosotros have all now become accepted to calling information technology.
The CD starts with:
take 5 of "Danny Male child". Elvis can be heard giving the order "gimme a key!". The take ends after 01.46 minutes. Elvis wasn't very happy with the key when he had to sing the high notes. Upwards until then he was doing well.
Take half dozen Elvis struggles at the same signal and interrupted himself. For the side by side take he inverse the primal once more as hes still unhappy with it.
Elvis interrupted
Take seven as he did on take 6 immigration his throat and commenting "I got to much sh*t in me. I'd like to do it in C. That'due south where I'd similar to practice it better."
Take viii as released on FTDs "The Jungle Room Sessions".
Take 9 as released on "Platinum" disc 4
Have 10 is the master without overdubs.
next upwards "Never Again" from the midnight recording on the next evening. Elvis seems to be in a reasonably good mood equally he light-heartedly interrupts the outset accept with:-
Take 1 later a few seconds if you'd pay attention...you know....... You guys've been in musi- in the studio too long, sittin' at that place with "click, click, click....one, two, three, fo"... You know, become loose.. n live!.. you know, like yous do on stage? Glen (or someone): Well, we were all drunkard, then! Elvis: Well, get drunk now - fu##, man I'll get yous so goddam bombed you won't fifty-fifty know where you lot're at... Bring out the alcohol..... Grandma! (everyone laughs). Elvis Grandma Dodger lived in a room just along from the kitchen, which was next to the Den where Elvis was recording,
Takes ii and three are just a few seconds long, simply this is where nosotros get to hear some chat between Elvis, the musicians and Felton Jarvis, these gems are nore interesting at times than the music.
Take four is a complete take. Elvis finished information technology with the remark "Right!" commenting that he wasn't to unsatisfied with it.
Take 5 is besides a complete and Elvis is nailing information technology each time.
Accept six is simply forty seconds only and is proceeded by a quick rehearsal.
Take 7 is a long fake start,. with Elvis cussing "Chiliad*damn it!"
Take viii again a false offset with Elvis discussing role of the song.
Take 9 is a complete. And another fine version.
Take 10 starts with Elvis remarking "attempt 65". The take ends shortly after in another false start..
Take 11 as released on "The Jungle Room Sessions",
Take 12 is only a false start Felton announces take 13 but so 14 every bit if he thought he fabricated a mistake in the have number?
Take xiv is the undubbed chief. As released on many boot CDs over the years.
"Never Again" section ends with the dubbed master.
The other song from this midnight session was "Beloved Coming Down".
Take ane ends later on a false first.
Take 2 is a complete and adept take running for iii.08 min.
Take three as on "The Jungle Room Session" where it was wrongly listed equally take two.
Take iv equally on "Made In Memphis"
Take 5. Undudded master as released on various other kicking CDs simply not in this quality
The CD finishes with the master take when you listen directly afterwards the undubbed recordings you can but wonder what Felton was listening to
If you get the gamble to choice this up do it yous wont regret information technology the sound throughout is stunning and a running fourth dimension just under 60 minutes this CD leaves you wishing it was a touch longer perhaps with takes 1 four of Danny Male child maybe one day, till then its easily a 10 out of 10
